北条司，1959年3月5日出生于日本福冈县北九州市。1977-1981就读于九州产业大学艺术系设计科。在1979年完成处女作《宇宙天使》，并入选第18回手冢奖。1981年推出的长篇连载《猫之眼》，一举成名，这时他才22岁，刚刚大学毕业。随后的《城市猎人》代表了他在漫画风格上的成熟。代表作《我是男子汉》、《猫眼三姐妹》、《城市猎人》、《天使的礼物》、《白猫少女》、《少女的季节》、《阳光少女》、《那年的夏天》、《非常家庭》等。
